The translation

A photograph is not
a painting. Yet.

No filters, no presets. Somebody reads your note and decides what to keep. That decision is the thing you're paying for. Below is one commission at all three stages.

01The note

Send a photograph and a few lines about what mattered. A painter reads it and decides what to keep.

02The sheet

Watercolour on 300gsm cotton. Twelve to fifteen days at the desk. It can't be corrected, so some sheets don't survive.

03The cancellation

One print, one shirt. The sheet is stamped, dated and closed. The original goes to you in the post.

The archive

Everything we've made,
and can't make again.

Every piece is 001. There is no 002.
01

Watercolour on 300gsm paper. It can't be corrected — a wash goes down once, and a bad sheet gets binned instead of fixed.

02

The sheet is cancelled. Stamped, dated and closed the day it is printed. Not by us, not by anyone, not even for you.

03

240gsm combed cotton. Cut and sewn in Bengaluru, garment-dyed in five shades, pre-shrunk, bound neck.

Before you commission

Questions.

What can we paint for you?
  • Your house — a home, an ancestral house, or a first property, as nostalgic art
  • A solo portrait — one person, for a milestone or a gift. One face only
  • A pet — one animal, collar included unless you tell us otherwise
  • A favourite place — a restaurant, a proposal spot, a holiday memory

One face or one pet per painting. We can't combine two faces, two pets, or a person and a pet in the same work.

What makes a good photograph?

The file

  • JPG or PNG at 300 DPI
  • Between 2 MB and 20 MB
  • No screenshots — they lose the detail we paint from

The shot

  • Daylight, minimal shadows. Avoid night and heavy overcast
  • Front-on, from far enough back to capture the full view
  • For people and pets: eye level, face and neck clearly visible, looking at the camera
  • Tidy paths, yards and entrances; move bins, clutter and cars where you can
  • No filters — we need the true colours

One thing to remember

  • Everything visible in the photo will appear in the painting. If you want something left out — a crowd, a parked car — say so in your notes
  • Old photographs work beautifully. Send them
Why does it take twelve to fifteen days?

Because watercolour can't be corrected. A wash goes down once and stays down — there is no undo and no layer to switch off. A sheet that goes wrong gets binned and started again, and that happens often enough to build into the estimate.

Four to five of those days are the painting itself. The rest is drying, scanning, printing and the cancellation.

What's included, and what isn't?
  • A digital watercolour painting, emailed to you, sized for A4 printing
  • The original sheet, signed and posted to you
  • The printed shirt, in your chosen shade and size
  • Delivered 12 to 15 days after we receive your photograph
  • We review the photograph first and tell you whether we can work with it. Only then is a payment link sent
  • This is not a live painting session, and there is no call afterwards
  • No revisions. A painter makes one decision and signs it
  • Your photograph is uploaded on the commission page, before any payment is taken
  • Images with more than one face, or more than one pet, can't be accepted
Can I order two of the same shirt?

No. The sheet is cancelled the day it is printed — one print, one shirt, closed. If you want two shirts, you are commissioning two paintings.

What if it doesn't fit?

Free size exchange within 14 days, anywhere in India, on the garment only. The painting stays with you regardless.

Before you choose

Paper or canvas.

They are not the same object and they don't age the same way. Worth two minutes.

Watercolour on paper

300gsm cotton rag. Transparent washes, the paper showing through, soft edges where the pigment has bled. It can't be corrected — a wash goes down once. Needs glass and no direct sun.

Painting on canvas

Acrylic on cotton canvas over a wooden stretcher. Opaque, built in layers, worked back into. It can be corrected, so a canvas takes longer and holds more detail. Hangs as it is, no glass.

Which one for a photograph of a place

Paper. Light and air are what watercolour does best, and a building reads well in washes.

Which one for a face or an animal

Canvas, usually. Skin and fur want layers, and a canvas lets a painter work back into a passage that isn't right.

How long each takes

Paper, twelve to fifteen days. Canvas, eighteen to twenty-two — it dries slowly and gets more sittings.

What arrives either way

The painting, signed and dated on the front, with the record number on the back. No print, no file, no copy.

About

PIN560001

Painted once. Printed once. Never again.

001

A serial number that starts at one and stops there.

Every piece we make is 001. There is never a 002. The painting is made, printed onto one shirt, then cancelled — marked, dated, and never used again. Not by us, not by anyone, not even for you.

Not a limited run. Not a drop. One.

The list

What we won't do.

Anyone can say they're good. Publishing what you refuse costs money, which is why almost nobody does it.

We don't reprint

The sheet is cancelled the day it's printed. One print, one shirt, closed.

We don't take revisions

A painter makes one decision and signs it. Watercolour has no undo.

We don't discount

₹2,999. It doesn't move for sales, seasons or volume.

We don't crowd a sheet

One face, or one pet. Never two, never both together.

We don't paint other people's work

No public figures, no licensed characters, no other artist's painting.

We don't sell the file

Not licensed, not resold, not reissued. It stops with you.

The number

It's a serial,
not an address.

560001 reads like a Bangalore postcode because it is one. We're not claiming it as ours and there's no counter at that address.

The number does one job: it starts at 001 and never advances. A serial number usually promises that another is coming. Here it doesn't.

The studio is in Bangalore. That part is true, and it's all the geography the brand needs.

Two things to commission

Pick one.

A shirt

The painting is printed onto one garment, and the sheet comes to you in the post. ₹2,999.

A pendant

The painting is smaller than a stamp and it isn't printed at all. The sheet goes inside the pendant. ₹4,999.
